Dr Janann Sherman receives Human Rights Award

The Department of History was well represented at the ceremony for the 37th Dr Martin Luther King, Jr. Human Rights Award. Many faculty and staff members were present, Dr Beverly Bond presided over the event, Kaylin Ewing helped to read the roll of previous recipients, and Dr Janann Sherman received the award. Mathematics professor given mathematics world's highest honor

Dr. Cecil C. Rousseau, a retired University of Memphis mathematics professor, has been named one of two winners of the mathematics world's highest honor, the Paul Erdös Award. Rousseau shares this year's honor with Dr. Paul Vaderlind of Stockholm University in Sweden. Read More

 

100 women who impacted University to be honored during spring event

Thousands of women have made a difference in the history of the University of Memphis. To celebrate these women, the Center for Research on Women (CROW) is partnering with African and African-American Studies and the Department of History to honor 100 women from the U of M's first 100 years. Faudree to Step Down as U of M Provost

University of Memphis President Shirley C. Raines announced that Dr. Ralph Faudree will step down as the University's Provost effective August 31. Faudree has served as Provost since July 2001. Press Release
