Nickalus Khan recieves Chi Beta Phi Science Award in Chemistry

Nickalus Khan Nickalus Khan is currently a Senior Chemistry, Civil Engineering Major minoring in Mathematics and Biology. His past academic accomplishments include making the Dean's list on several different occasions and being a part of several different campus organizations. Nickalus is a part of the Tau Beta Pi engineering honor society, the honor society of Phi Kappa Phi, and Sigma Alpha Lambda.

Nickalus recently received the undergraduate student award for 2008 for the Phi Kappa Phi honor society. Some of his interests have included several different research studies including seismic earthquake waves with the civil engineering department. He worked as a Chemistry Laboratory teaching assistant in the Fall of 2007. This was one of the most challenging but rewarding experiences in my undergraduate career. Nickalus also currently tutors with the Educational Support System (ESP).

Plans for Study at the University of Memphis

His future plans for study at the University of Memphis include completing his degrees by the spring of 2009 and participating in Biochemical research over the summer. He is looking forward to continuing his tutor with the ESP system and hopes to have the opportunity to be a teaching assistant for more chemistry classes in the future.

Future Goals

Nickalus’ goal is to attend Medical School in the Fall of 2009. He aspires to become a practicing surgeon and would like to use his chemistry and engineering background in the field of medicine.
