The Purpose of Great Conversations
In 2002, the College of Arts and Sciences' Dean and his Advisory Board initiated the annual Great Conversations dinner in order to bring community guests together with award-winning research and teaching faculty for an evening of dining and conversation. Over the last six years, Great Conversations has provided the Memphis community with an opportunity to learn first-hand from the College of Arts & Sciences' faculty in a casual, dinner party setting. Through Great Conversations, we hope that you gain: - A knowledge of the far-reaching research taking place at the University of Memphis, one of America's great metropolitan research universities;
- An understanding of how the College of Arts & Sciences is improving the quality of life in Memphis and the Mid-South through strategic research programs; and
- desire to support the students and faculty of the College of Arts & Sciences.
